When someone says ‘oh it’ll be expensive’ does that mean $1k, $10k or $30k+…. same thing as when they say it won’t cost that much. What is ‘not much?’ It all means something different to each person. I’ve done up 4 easy tips to follow that will help your bottomline and get you the day you want. Some of these actually apply to everything in life too.

Calligrapher Beck from A Small Drop of Ink was kind enough to answer a bunch of questions for us about what goes into this intricate art form. Micro weddings have become a bit more of a thing these days, mainly because of the pandemic, but we have been fans of them for years and we hope you might become a fan of them too! During our time in our event hire business we have covered massive parties of 220 people down to 20 and 30 guests and although both have their place, there is something really special about the intimate celebrations.

When it comes to picking your wedding date how much thought have you put into what season it is in and how that might affect certain aspect of your day? By intentionally selecting specific things that are reflective of the season, every year as your anniversary rolls around you will be guaranteed to have reminders of your special day. Specific smells and tastes of the season, when certain flowers are naturally in bloom, even the colours associated with it… all create memories that you will remember forever.

She extended her cutting garden substantially and started a flower farm where she hopes to offer specialty cut flowers for sale and might I say her taste is exquisite when it comes to colours and varieties! I have a feeling her skills at arranging will no doubt lead into wedding design as well, but as she says in the interview she is more than happy to let the growth happen organically (no pun intended).

I’ll cut to the chase and let you know the bits that I thought needed fixing and then tell you what actually needed fixing (I’m sure you can guess where this is going *insert eye roll here)

I’m almost embarrassed to admit this but I thought we could whack a few new spouts on, replace the weatherboards on the western wall, patch up a window on the back wall, replace the gross yellow stained glass from the bottom half of all the windows and give her a lick of paint and be open by say March 2020….. what the hell was I thinking, haha!!
